Coach Mel has been involved with sports her entire life. After moving to California from Michigan, she attended Palomar College in where she played basketball and was captain of the back-to- back PCAC Conference Championship team. It’s there she received her Associates Degree in Behavioral and Social Sciences before transferring up to the University of Chico. At CSU Chico, Mel continued to play sports while receiving her Bachelors in Psychology and minoring in Kinesiology and Sexual Diversity.
“I love people and I love fitness. If I can bring the two things I love together, to help improve and positively change the lives of others…then I’m living the dream. MROC gives me the platform to do just that. It’s a team environment that challenges you to become both a better leader and an athlete and overcome obstacles on and off the course. I grew up on the Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans, now I’m proud to be a part of a community where we create Spartans of our own.”
